Guest Blog: The Cappernatorial Election
Nothing in this cyber world is more exciting than the Cappernatorial election. Except for Capping. And a few other things.
It all started with Lanzman and his revitalization plans for the Capper eGroup.
Thanks to Lanzman, many old members have returned. Hey, I returned and no one here is older than me. So that proves it.
Then Daleman made his occasional post to let us all know how boring we were. (Not digging the Daleman. Just reporting the news. But not all the news. Just the dirt.)
Well, nobody wants to bore Daleman less than I so I took the bull by the horns (or, I should say, “took the alleged bull” because the truth of it all was uncertain) and wrote a “How can we stop boring Daleman” poll.
When three people voted for ELECT A NEW MAYOR our course was clear. (The previously elected Mayor Soozcat is still M.I.A.)
With no outline for the Mayor’s powers, duties, or term (because that’s the way we cappers do things), I appointed myself election Moderator and found five fine candidates who were willing to brave the grueling questions, answers, and debates of a Cappernatorial Election.
Gray Zombie, Helen Servo, PrezGAR, Scypha, and The Diva took the plunge, each taking turns to express their own intelligent opinions on the future of capping, their own degrees of capper understanding and wisdom.
All candidates received votes but the Distinguished Gray Zombie took the election with a whopping 50% of capper egroup support.
In my opinion, Mayor Zombie triumphed by exhibiting a perfect balance of humor and insight. He knew when to snap off a funny answer, when to give a convincing expression of love and support for the group.
He has already begun his term strongly by bringing many new members to the group.
Science bless Mayor Zombie.
Please enjoy his Inauguration music which was written expressly for this important event.
Hope you like banjo.

Actually sooz has had some brief spurts of activity over at the wiki.
I think she’s been around IS now and again, but I’m too lazy to look it up. But she does seem to have departed the egroup.

Wasn’t it actually the departure of JurASSic Pork that brought many old cappers back to the group?

I believe it was the departure of Jurassic Pork that prompted existing members to start recruiting again. No one knew of his departure until their return. I never saw him in action and am grateful.

JurASSicPork leaving was followed by a few old cappers returning. I was insisting that Lanzman returned after Porky left. However, some newcomers to the group, who hung out at Glitter’s Cap page Board, did join the group after I posted about the election.
The whole mayor thing was all in fun, but I have been trying to promote capping. Few people I’ve talked to have shown interest. Only time will tell.

I’m just grateful that we have an active group again, both in and out of the galleries.

Old cappers don’t die, they just fade away, asking for their fingers to be pulled.
It remains to be seen, whether or not those cappers who are producing children will breed true! [*Bela Lugosi movie music*]
