Ok, the other thread for folks to leave their thoughts was junkbait. Here’s a new one for you all.

Seriously, I find that the ’send caption’ function has no confirmation screen now, though it still seems to work.
But if it didn’t…? It might help to bring the confirmed-send screen back, I suggest.
Re: yellow - I thought it was time for a change and this offered better contrast and that old school capper charm. Can’t please all of the people all of the time.
Re: send caption confirmation. It’s still there under the menu, but now I’m also giving the caption form. Yeah, it’s easier to miss, but I figured this would save people a click and that a whole screen full of my regular boilerplate cruft for a three line message was overkill.
I genuinely don’t want to sound stupid… but where is it under the menu? (I was refering to things like http://lustforlunch.com/is/sendcaption.php?captime=1176759211&handle=UpSky2 i.e. the little envelope icons/links with each caption, and the function you get when you click on the envelope… I honestly don’t see where such a function is left.
H’lo! Just damning the man here at the temp job and thought I’d crack wise about something. So, um… uhhhh… yeah, okay, I got nothin’. Back to capping, I guess.
Why were there no random musings in May? Have they all gone the way of the Dodo bird? This is not a random musing, it is precise, direct and not at all messy like a musing.
Moldy’s is one of the easiest capper b-day’s to remember, on account of her pointing out Crow’s classic riff about the date : ” Normandy. June 5th. I was early”. The Gray Zombie’s birthday is almost as easy to remember, since it’s the same day.
Looks like we just missed about 1,501 Reasons WtWiS.
Must’ve been something about scypha &/or Moldy in there… well, maybe I’ll make one sometime in the next 1,500-odd… hope I get to see it too.
(PS: Sometimes being jailed does not change a person at all… this is known as “recidivism”, except when gold-plated and featured in all the supermarket-checkout-aisle publications… in that case it can be called unchanged publicity for a celebrity.)
Darwinian evolution takes something like hundreds of centuries. Richard and Maurice (Mac) McDonald founded ‘MacD—–ds’ in 1940 - thus only about 1 % of the needed time for species change has passed, according to Darwinist doctrine has passed.
Darwinian evolution is of course not efficient itself!
(Darn, this lacks humor, its like a craigslist science forum post… hmm: how about the answer, instead, that it is “Because robotic technology has not yet been applied to that gurble blarfig flyge widdaa area yet.” )
Did you ever notice that no matter what line you’re in at the bank, people will get the hell out of your way pronto if you’re weilding a bloody crowbar.
I don’t mind people voting for their own stuff all that much, if done in moderation. I mean, if people don’t think their own stuff is funny, why are they posting it?
I think, for better or worse, the favorites page has been a fairly accurate reflection of the best captions, accounting for varying tastes, which there is of course, no accounting for.
Keep on capping, keep on capping… it may prove a cure for cancer and AIDS yet.
And for Louie Anderson and ‘ Arsenio Hall as, “Extremely Ugly Girl” ‘, too, if we’re lucky.

I must say that the interface for IS and WPT is crisp, clear, and clean limbed like those female professional tennis players from East Bloc countries.
Seriously, it really looks good.

In all honesty, I’m not sure about the yellow fonts.

Then again, that could just be the “anything different is bad” part of my brain talking.

(later:)
Ah, I see now: the confirmation message isn’t given a whole screen, after the caption is sent. But it’s there.
Much more economical.

Nothing special. Just wanted you to know that it will be Moldy’s birthday tomorrow. Oh, and I’m the keeper of the Cheese!

The world IS screwed, but I have an idea that I really think will help. How about this: Concrete tires and rubber roads!!??!! Think about it!
Also, I’m missing my cat…. and why are there so many Chinese Restaurants around these days?

Try this, since they’re coming to your house anyway, let the Jehovah’s Witnesses deliver mail and small packages. Think of the savings!

Regrettably I cannot scram off to Philly fast enough for tonight.

If Darwinism is true, then why haven’t the people working in fast-food drive thrus been replaced by a more efficient species?

The capperfest was great! Most of you cappers are just the nicest people a girl could meet! Thanks for the great evening!

From the quality of some of “Today’s Hits”, methinks some folks are voting for their own caps.
