Caption This! Reunion! July! 20th!
Remember all those people you used to cap with back in the golden age of Caption This!? Are you one of those cappers we used to caption with at CT? Well, all day Friday July 20th you and or they are invited to cap like it’s 1999 here at Inventing Situations. Well, not like it was 1999 at IS, because there was no IS in ‘99, more like it was ‘99 at CT!, except you’ll have to do it at IS, since there is no CT any more. Except in our hearts, where it will live forever. If you know some cappers who’ve been hiding themselves, be sure to spread the word to them.
The gala’s going to start right around midnight (eastern) and we hope it’ll go until midnight or so. Like all day. Or even more. You can even help plan the schedule by requesting items via our catalog. And of course, there’ll be surprises thrown in during the gaps.
While we don’t have an official guest list, but names like Humoriste, JD1036, Jazzsoda and/or Hippie, jondapicam, JoeCrow, empressv, Mustang, Datazoid1701, ragbot, Steve_Reeves, chilwil, ABServo, flowbear, GersonK, rickubis, tinaw, Generik, GizM, UnReality, UpSky2, Zee, and WEIRD_1 are rumored to appear. And maybe the cappers behind the names too. If you plan on coming, why not leave a comment so your other friends will know when to expect you? Thanks to the folks at the Cappers egroup for inspiring this whole craziness. Keep circulating the tapes!

I’ll sure try to show up sometime! If I’m free at lunch, I’ll try to sneak in from work. It requires disconnecting from our LAN, and hooking up my Nokia E62, but it’s possible (done it before). Otherwise, it’ll be sometime Friday night…sometime after 8 Central time.

I have wireless broadband (at last), so I should be around for awhile without trouble.
In the EDT PM I’ve scheduled - and am hereby threatening you all with - Sergei Eisenstein’s incredibly classic (and loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong) ‘Battleship Potemkin’. Admire the silly comment I posted instead of putting my handle on the request.

I am so excited! I will be there at some point! I so miss my alter ego, Humoriste! And I miss sitting in front of the monitor in my ergonomic leather chair (well, it was ergonomic 8 years ago), practically peeing my pants over the hysterical caps! Can’t wait to see you all. Well, JoeCrow is definitely aware of the event, but I’m not sure if he’s coming. I’m pretty sure ac is also aware. As for Buck and his blushing bride clover, I really should dig through my address book and make sure they know.

JoeC - we won’t actually be capping Clapton. “Claption This!” just struck me as a funny name for some reason.
JoeA - we’re supposed to be starting right at midnight eastern when Friday does. Picking through this thread may give you an idea about when people will actually show up, but then again, it may not. Note that Zee has already requested White Zombie to start at midnight.

Heck yeah, I’m gonna be there! I have a job interview at 10:00 that morning (Wish me luck! Though I’m not all that interested in this job.), but as for the rest of the day, seeing as how I have no job, no family/kids, and no life whatsoever, I reckon I’ll be in & out all day.
