So, IS is Back
Huzzah! I’m sure you all have plenty of questions. Is it back for good? Why is it back? Am I just abusing my power to watch you all squirm? What’s this lump?
Provided my autopilot system works well, it should be back on a fairly permanent basis. Just don’t expect the large supply of images to grow very steadily and don’t expect a lot of special events and promotion. The order of the ephemeral shorts will be more random than before, which should help to combat staleness. Plus, you’re all free to promote the site in your own ways, provided they’re legal.
The timing of the return was tricky. I’d started tinkering with the site on account of three things: Due to a ‘bet’ with one capper that could have forced me to re-open the site, I had to get ready to take the site out of mothballs anyway. I’d started tinkering with the site beyond that just to improve my score on YSlow, just for my own satisfaction (FWIW, It’s up to 81, it’d be even higher I configured it to ignore the stuff I think is irrelevant to the site). I ended up tweaking the site even more as a delaying tactic to avoid looking for work. As it turned out, work found me pretty quickly (no applause, it’s a short temp gig), but getting the site ready again was just feasible before I had to go back to work, so it became as good a window of opportunity as I was going to get.

Okay, so it’s a more reserved and guarded “Huzzah!” but it’s a “Huzzah!” nonetheless. It’s good to have it back, for however much or long that’ll be.
And though it’s short-term temping, congrats on the new job.

I’m thrilled, too, though my elation is tempered by the terms of my parole, which state I cannot be found within twenty yards of anything “capgasmic*.”

Sadly, that’s not nearly as promising as it sounds, since my site is just barely in its infancy (seriously… it spends most of its time crying and spitting up). Still, it’s something, I suppose.

keogh, I believe what eber meant to say was that it’s captagious. At least, that’s what the CDC said.
Mr_G - well, I plan on returning the gripes and begging I got on departure, but returning the compliments would just look like log rolling.
