Classic Thanksgiving Bumpers Coming to mst3k.com
Since we’re busy preparing our own homage to the classic mst3k Turkey marathons, we’d be remiss if we didn’t point out that some of the special commercial bumpers from those very marathons will be showing in the videos section at the official site starting Monday 11/19 (until ?) along with (we think) a new Thanksgiving bit with those animated bot-like objects. Word on the street is that those cartoons should start showing improvement any episode now.

I just watched the second new animated short at the official site. Meh.
I like that there’s an official depository for a lot of this stuff, including the commercial bumpers, but it might be better to rely on the original shows and YouTube.

The cartoon is not witty.
That does not mean it may not become so in future, but the prospects are dim thus far.

Good or otherwise, it’s the first bit of new mst-style Turkey Day material in over a decade, so, I figured it was worth a mention given my marathons and all. And the old bumpers tend to be more poorly represented than the eisodes themselves in people’s collections and YouTube.
On a similar note, adult swim over on the program network has picked up the turkey marathon = loads of lousy product meme and are having a marathon of the worst episodes of some of the series (as picked by the producers). Heaven forfend you could find a full list on their site with any ease, though.

Aside from the fact that the new cartoons aren’t funny in the least, I have the urge to send them a huge banner that says “I HATE TOM SERVO’S NEW VOICE”.

I just watched the second video as well. When it ended I thought to myself “That was it?”. I guess it’s a good thing it was short , because it wasn’t funny.
