So, The Wiki’s Back

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Nobody remembered to back the wiki up regularly, and there was a crash. So, the capper wiki’s back to how it was at the start of ‘07.  Can you remember that far back? I sure can’t. Arch sends his sincerest apologies. I’m not sure how this is going to effect the already neglected wiki mstings, except to say, um, we’d have to shuffle to recreate what we had of a script or search the couch cushions to see if anybody backed it up on their own machine.

What Now

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

#1 - A point I can’t make strongly enough Hipsoda’s Caption Crack is an always on live capping site much like IS or CT! It’s not just one night a week any more. No, it’s not exactly how I’d build and run a caption site, and while I still have a parent’s pride in IS that leads me to believe IS was a little better, I’ve as yet to hear anybody publicly or privately point out any differences that would keep a happy IS capper from being happy there, and many of you have already made the adjustment. For those of you too maladjusted to enjoy either site, there is as always, glitter’s.

#2 - I appreciate the outpouring of memories, emotions, and pleas in response to IS’ closure and I’m afraid I’ll be unable to to individually respond. The last 26 hours or so of caps will be available for viewing for the next few days (note the “Next page…” link beneath the captions), as will everyone’s picks for the days’ favorites (yeah, it’s a huge page).

Reunion! Less than 9 hours away!

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

Cornjob This! The big reunion’s coming real soon now. Starts when Friday does (on the east coast anyway, an hour or three ahead of it in the rest of the US of A) right in the gallery.

I’m still busy busy busy here, making new grabs, planning to expand the favorites page, and whatever the heck else I do around here.

Don’t forget to spread the word to any of your fellow old timers who might not have heard.

Loads of people are planning to show, including AAAron333, ABServo, Agent_Moldy, animebabe, Buffoon, chilwil, Datazoid1701, DoktorD, empressv, Enapov, flowbear, Generik, GersonK, GizM, Humoriste, JD1036, Jazzsoda and/or Hippie, JAUSTRALIS, Jiveguy5, jondapicam, JoeAnthrax, JoeCrow, Katze-Kitty, Mustang, NurseNoir, ragbot, rickubis, robofreak, Steve_Reeves, tinaw, Torgone, T-Rex, UnReality, UpSky2, WEIRD_1, Xigeous, and Zee.

Caption This! Reunion! July! 20th!

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Remember all those people you used to cap with back in the golden age of Caption This!? Are you one of those cappers we used to caption with at CT? Well, all day Friday July 20th you and or they are invited to cap like it’s 1999 here at Inventing Situations. Well, not like it was 1999 at IS, because there was no IS in ‘99, more like it was ‘99 at CT!, except you’ll have to do it at IS, since there is no CT any more. Except in our hearts, where it will live forever. If you know some cappers who’ve been hiding themselves, be sure to spread the word to them.

Claption This! The gala’s going to start right around midnight (eastern) and we hope it’ll go until midnight or so. Like all day. Or even more. You can even help plan the schedule by requesting items via our catalog. And of course, there’ll be surprises thrown in during the gaps.

While we don’t have an official guest list, but names like Humoriste, JD1036, Jazzsoda and/or Hippie, jondapicam, JoeCrow, empressv, Mustang, Datazoid1701, ragbot, Steve_Reeves, chilwil, ABServo, flowbear, GersonK, rickubis, tinaw, Generik, GizM, UnReality, UpSky2, Zee, and WEIRD_1 are rumored to appear. And maybe the cappers behind the names too. If you plan on coming, why not leave a comment so your other friends will know when to expect you? Thanks to the folks at the Cappers egroup for inspiring this whole craziness. Keep circulating the tapes!

The reunion: are ya' coming?

Capping Cappers

Tuesday, April 10th, 2007

After sitting on these pics for far too long, I’m finally going to
give you good people a chance to cap your fellow cappers from our
capfest last month in NYC here, at Inventing Situations. And since I don’t have that many pics, I’m padding the occasion out with a showing of the film whose msting made Matteus come down and caused the gathering in the first place, Dial Comes to Town, then showing the pics another time for latecomers.
The times? Tuesday 4/17 3 PM Eastern and again Thursday 4/19 8 PM eastern.

And for you interested parties, writing on the next wiki msting, Rest
and Health starring Dick York, has begun. The writer’s audition is being clever enough to find the page.

And one more thing, if you haven’t visited Inveting Situations lately, on your next visit be sure to notice the new hopefully easier to read color scheme and nifty buzzword enabled auto-refresh gallery. It’s not just for lurker’s anymore. Though the lurker’s gallery is still available with this link.
