This past weekend a few of us cappers got together to see Cinematic Titanic‘s live shows in Philadelphia. Before Saturday night’s movie JoeCrow was kind enough to take us into his Jersey lair aka The BotCave, where he builds Servos, Crows and other bots for common fans and even folks like Joel Hodgson (pictured at left with me at my goofiest).

We got to see the wonders of how a bot is built, and Joe even made us some Servo heads that we were able to be goofy with at the show (hoisting them when Servo was mentioned or alluded to).

Anyway, the show was excellent, and I’ll be running some of the pictures for your capping pleasure Monday June 22 @ 8 PM Eastern on Inventing Situations. You can preview (and well, caption) them by clicking the image here (that’s the end of the stream, the start is here).

Since all I have to plug that I’m involved in is my friend’s new hi-larious job advice website, Help Unwanted, that I’m doing tech work for (and will have more on later as it really gets rolling), I’ll just plug the next offering from Cinematic Titanic, Coming January 8th :

That’s right. At midnight.  Come on down.  I’m running it by the seat of my pants this year, so it’ll probably start with the premiere of The Wasp Woman, which got the Cineamtic Titanic treatment. Come on down.

Since even some of us who ordered it three weeks ago haven’t gotten it yet, it’ll probably be midweek until all the early orderers have it and had a chance to watch. Today I had my second, more indirect, interaction with one of the Cinematic Titanic crew this week, and perhaps oddest responses a mstie has ever had to opening up their mailbox: “oh, it’s only the shadowrama cling off of Mary Jo Pehl‘s fridge.” Maybe it was more like “at least it’s the shadowrama”, but still, there was a lot of disappointment that there was no Oozing Skull in there, since I really thought today might be the day. But it’s not like you care about the minor downturns that make up my life. You just want to know how I came to possess such a fantastic piece of celebrity swag. It’s simple, really, I finally achieved what every capper secretly aspires to, recognition for their genius from the Brains. Or at least one of their spouses. You see, over on the mst3k review / Satellite New message board, forum member RAD a.k.a. Total Husband Ron a.k.a. Mary Jo Pehl’s mate has been running a Caption This! thread to help pass time while we wait for our Titanics to come in. In one post, he offered up a picture of their fridge for capping, with a prize of your choice of anything off of the fridge. The prize was too good to pass up, but I was a little stumped and ended up going a little against my grain with this caption:
