Joe and the bots

Friday, February 15th, 2008

joel and the bots After going on and on about JoeCrow Day, here’s a little screengrab of his work on the new mst3k vol 10.2. The new segment, with Joel, Trace, and Frank returning to the roles that made them famous (and Frank taking on a new one), is only three and a half minutes, but along with Cinematic Titanic (and Rifftrax, if that’s the way you roll), makes for a great 20th anniversary present for msties. mst3k Volume 10.2, the Capper Connection

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

You know how Rhino is re-issuing the volume 10, replacing 212 Godzilla vs. Megalon with 402 Giant Gila Monster? Not only is it finally available for pre-order at amazon complete with a sketch of Joel, Josh and Trace explaining why the disc needed to be replaced, rumor has it that it also features some of the work of beloved capper and known Zamboniist JoeCrow. Rhino is supposed to be offering Giant Gila Monster as a standalone disc via their website at some point for a limited time, targeted at the people who already got volume 10 when it was briefly on the shelves. The set also contains 503 What to do on a Date / Swamp Diamonds, 514 Is This Love? /Teenage Strangler, and 810 Giant Spider Invasion.

Order it now so you can be amongst the first to celebrate JoeCrow day when it arrives at your home. The disc, not the day.

Cinematic Titanic - be cool and order it now

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

As you’ve probably heard by now, the first episode of Cinematic Titanic, The Oozing Skull (aka Brain of Blood) is now available to order. <kermit>yaaaaay</kermit>. The preview is out (and in lower res on the order page) and it looks great. I’ve previously dismissed the ‘but there’s no Shadowrama’ complaint about other post-mst3k efforts to be splitting hairs, but did it ever feel right to see it again. On the downside, the download option won’t be available until April, and the discs won’t ship for up to two weeks.

[Addendum 12/23]

There seems to be an official version of the trailer on YouTube now:

Classic Thanksgiving Bumpers Coming to mst3k.com

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

Since we’re busy preparing our own homage to the classic mst3k Turkey marathons, we’d be remiss if we didn’t point out that some of the special commercial bumpers from those very marathons will be showing in the videos section at the official site starting Monday 11/19 (until ?) along with (we think) a new Thanksgiving bit with those animated bot-like objects. Word on the street is that those cartoons should start showing improvement any episode now.
